Meeting Minutes

New Development:

Lower Ground level has been poured and first floor started.
Waterproofing is the next stage.

Due to be completed September 2025

Roads are being cleaned with crush, which is like a shingle.
Street works and drainage are complete - so there should be no more disruption to residents in those areas.

The finishing stages will be looking to employ locals via the work match scheme - we will look to set up an open day at Newlands Hall. This will be Jan onwards.

Young people 16 and over interested in the building trade can apply for work experience/open days - get in touch for more info.

When the site is cleared, residents can request to look around the site on pre-arranged visits.

There is a post box at the site entrance for comments etc.

We will monitor the condition of roads to make sure that any damage is put right.

St Thomas School

The school will be vacating the Premises by Sept 2025, no indication of the use of the building after this date.

We received negative comments on the buses on the estate, parking on grass verge, parking on the estate. We will feed this back to the School to rectify.

Trees:
The school has offered to fund some trees, as have WBC and Enable.
We will look to plant a Christmas tree at the front of Newlands Hall, and to replace the fallen Willow in Newlands rear garden.|

A resident asked about overgrown trees in neighbours gardens.
If privately owned freehold or leasehold this is the responsibility of the owner.
If Tennant, this is often the responsibility of the tenant - however if the tree was overgrown on arrival WBC/Enable may treat the tree.

Funding - a total of £1565 has been donated to PVRA by Asda community fund to maintain the community garden for future users to enjoy.

Activities at Newlands Hall - Yoga and Stretch Thursday AM, hope to have new kids clubs soon. Mens fitness Thursday evening - contact Enable. Kids Theatre Tuesday night - British Theatre Academy. Available to hire for private events - NewlandsHallPVRA@gmail.com

Questions for the Estate Manager:
Hoppers blocked - please contact estate manager

Stairwells plastered but not painted. Plastering was a repair, but painting classed as major works which comes round every few years.

Use of scaffold questioned - has work been done, is money being wasted - will be investigated.

Cleaning of stairwells reported not great - feedback will be given to Pinnacle.

Weeding and overgrown areas - responsibility of cleaning staff - feedback will be given to Pinnacle.

Abandoned Vehicles - some been for long time - some may have illegal MOT. Please report with photos showing evidence of abandonment - dirt, moss and grass under car etc. Report online if SORN, not tax/MOT showing on DVLA website. Takes a long time unfortunately but is eventually possible to have removed.
